Educators seeking to advance in their profession can take part in graduate work at both the master's and doctoral level. Graduate students are prepared to become specialists, teacher leaders and ultimately teacher educators, as well as to contribute to best practice research. Admission to these programs is competitive. Master's Program, Learning and Behavior Specialist II, and Deaf and Hard of Hearing: Auditory/Oral Specialist Advisement

Upon admission to one of these programs, the Department of Special Education Graduate Coordinator will assign a faculty advisor to the student.

Doctoral Program Advisement

The Doctoral Program Coordinator serves as the temporary program advisor for all doctoral students upon admission to the doctoral program. Each student should have a program advisor at the completion of 12 credit hours in the program. This advisor is determined through joint discussions among the Doctoral Program Coordinator, the student, and one of the doctoral program faculty based on mutual interests and the student's goals.
