BiographyDr. Stacy Kelly is a faculty member in the Low Vision and Blindness Program at Illinois State University. Prior to joining the faculty at Illinois State University, Dr. Kelly was a National Center for Leadership in Visual Impairment (NCLVI) Doctoral Fellow. Dr. Kelly completed her doctoral degree at Northern Illinois University as an NCLVI Doctoral Fellow.Dr. Kelly started her career by pursuing an undergraduate degree in special education with an emphasis in low vision and blindness at Illinois State University. Dr. Kelly taught students who were blind or visually impaired (K-21) as a certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired. She is also a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) and a certified school administrator. In addition to this, Dr. Kelly has worked as a disability policy researcher and disability advocate on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. Dr. Kelly has taught courses at Northern Illinois University, George Mason University, and Illinois State University. Dr. Kelly’s areas of interest include blindness and low vision specific assistive technology, education of children with visual impairments, orientation and mobility, and quantitative research methodologies. | |||||
