We hope that you will also bookmark this page and find it to be a helpful reference.

What next?

Finding a position
Illinois State special education graduates are frequently employed or have several interviews scheduled prior to graduation. The need for special educators is great and our graduates are highly sought after. Staff at ISU's Career Center will be happy to assist you with preparing your credentials and finding employment if you like. During student teaching you may be approached to interview for positions that are available. Check with your University Supervisor on how best to schedule these interviews so as not to disrupt your student teaching experience. Candidates who are offered positions that will begin immediately after student teaching should check the back of the Student Teaching Handbook (pdf) for eligibility guidelines for "Early Check Out."
